Many pet owners would rather put a dog harness on their pet then a collar. Collars can pinch the dog’s neck if they are too tight. The problem is, many dog harnesses are expensive, complex or they just never seem to fit quite right. Or you buy one with Velcro, thinking it will be easier, and all it does is get tangled up in the fur on your dog and frustrate both of you. You can save all of the hassle and make your own very simple dog harness out of rope.

Are walks with your dog becoming less pleasurable due to choking from its collar and leash? Has your vet voiced concern over trachea damage? Frustrated with ill-fitting and awkward harnesses? Searching for something unique that offers unparalleled fit, ease of use, and comfort?TIP: Once you properly fit Harness Lead to dog and you begin the walk, you will notice the rubber disc will rise in air. This is correct. The RUBBER DISC is there to prevent over loosening. Rubber disc acts as a "floater". Allow the RUBBER DISC to RISE and FALL naturally. Do not continue to push rubber disc down as you walk, this will keep leash tight on dog.To begin, choose a size of rope that is appropriate for your animal. If you have a small dog, or even a cat, that you want to put on a harness, then a lighter rope will work. For a larger dog, use a thick piece of rope. Start with a soft cotton rope that is approximately 11 to 12 feet in length. Measure the dog’s chest. The broader his chest, the more rope you will need to use for a proper fitting harness.Measure the body portion of the harness. Most harnesses include two circles: around the dog's neck and torso. Measure the torso portion of the harness. Wrap a length of rope around the dog's torso, creating a circle, and see how easy it is to slip on and off the dog. The harness should be slightly difficult to remove and put on, so that it won't slip off the dog. Cut the rope at the appropriate length and tie it in a double overhand knot.Making a rope harness for a dog takes only a few minutes. The type of rope used will vary by the size of the dog and requirements for the harness. For example, a huge St. Bernard will require a much thicker rope than a teacup Yorkie. Whatever the thickness of rope, it should be soft and sooth -- a fibrous rope can irritate the pooch's skin. Less than 5 feet of rope will be needed.TinFmoon Pet Dog Reflective Training Nylon Rope Dog Harness Round Leash Collar * Read more at the image link. (This is an Amazon affiliate link)
