I just finish making these and my dogs (4) schnauzer just love them. They are easy, simple, and great ingredients.
I don’t like store bought snacks for them. They also like peanut butter cookies that I make with low sodium veg broth, Thanks for a great treat.

- Make with Dog Shaped Lollipop MoldsAs an avid dog lover, I have spent far too much money on dog treats at various stores. When my dogs started gaining weight I began to pay more attention to the content of what I was feeding them. I was surprised by the fat content in some of the common dog treats. I wanted to find a tasty treat for my dogs that is low in both fat and cost. Every dog I have met loves peanut butter but it is not very healthy to feed them globs of peanut butter even though they enjoy having sticky mouths. These cookies are both simple and inexpensive to make. You do not have to be an experienced baker in order to successfully make these delectable dog treats. If this is your first baking experience it may take longer but the preparation time is usually about 20 to 30 minutes and then add 20 minutes for baking time.Yet pet store shelves are stacked with peanut butter flavored products. Peanut butter cookies, peanut butter stuffing … and even those of us who choose to bypass commercial foods, have been fooled into thinking that the occasional Kong stuffed with organic, sugar-free peanut butter is an awesome treat for dogs.Even if your dog doesn’t find dairy or gluten problematic, this adorable video is worth the watch to see these eager canine cooks interfering (or are they helping?) with the preparation of these peanut butter doggy cookies. Since some of our buddies can’t digest the ingredients in some recipes above, this selection serves up a stomach-sensitive solution for dogs with dairy and gluten digestive problems.

This week on Kitchen Tails, I am joined by special guest and YouTube star Rebecca Zamolo []. She agreed to bring along her two dogs, Peanut and Blackjack to be our taste testers for the dog treats we will be making today! I will be walking you through how to make mutter butter cookies for dogs all the while trying to teach Rebecca some baking tips along the way! Oh, and there is a way to win a barkers dozen of these cookies, so watch to find out how!Thankfully, Sage doesn’t have any special allergies or dietary needs, so there’s really no reason for me to make her homemade dog treats other than the fact that I love her something fierce and needed a break from cookies for a minute. But conveniently, this homemade dog treats recipe makes a TON and we know lots of other neighbor-ly dogs who can and will appreciate a little gift bag of soft-baked, peanut butter and bacon glazed homemade dog treats.
