People have a thing for before-and-after pictures, whether they show weight loss, makeovers, or plastic surgery. It's fun to see a transformation.
But while it's humans who are the subjects of these comparison pictures, animal photographer named Grace Chon thought people would get just as much of a kick out of seeing doggie makeovers — that is, before and after they're groomed.
'I think a lot of us have a fascination with before-and-after images because it’s always fun to see dramatic transformations,' she told Daily Mail Online. 'I had the idea of doing a before and after series with dog grooming because there’s something about it that’s so funny to me. Sometimes the dog looks so different and you wonder if it’s the same dog in both images.' Utah dog groomer. The dog spot - pet grooming. Yorkie before and after.

And, thinking about this huge contrast between before a dog gets shaved and after, we selected 18 awesome pictures of dogs, before & after their visit to the grooming parlour. Enjoy! What made you want to start this new series? How did it come about?
I think a lot of us have a fascination with before and after images because it’s always fun to see dramatic transformations. I had the idea of doing a before and after series with dog grooming because there’s something about it that’s so funny to me. Sometimes the dog looks so different and you wonder if it’s the same dog in both images. I wanted to capture that idea in the series, and have the after photos be really extreme by showing Japanese Dog Grooming cuts since they aren’t that common and the results are so striking. If you love a good “before and after” series, you will not be disappointed with this one. Pet and lifestyle photographer is back with Hairy, a series where she takes dogs who are in a desperate need of grooming and transforms them into adorable creatures. All of these dogs weren’t just given the normal treatment, however, they were cut in a Japanese-style of grooming, with an emphasis on making the dogs look as cute as possible. Chon worked with the talented groomers of in Los Angeles to make this series come alive.Grace says that she had the idea of doing a before and after series with dog grooming because it struck her as being particularly funny. There’s also a fascination with the drastic differences in before and after images. She wanted to capture that in a series, but she wanted it to be extreme. So, she chose Japanese style grooming cuts.Levi's before and after his grooming, he is my boyfriend's dog. That was the third dog I've ever groomed, I've had a lot of practice on my miniature poodle, peaches. Hope you enjoy!
